Children’s welfare and safety is a paramount consideration and staff undertakes comprehensive risk assessment inside the premises. Staff and children all know about fire safety procedures and access to the provision is monitored to keep children safe. Staff sensitively promote good hygiene procedures and provide healthy meals and snacks with regard given to children with allergies or special diets. Staff are aware of their child protection responsibilities.

Children follow a planned programme of fun activities designed to help them make progress in their learning. The staffs interact well with the children and actively encourage good behaviour. Children are secure and happy in their surroundings. The staff knows the children well and show care and concern for their individual needs.

There is a friendly partnership with parents; information is shared through written daily reports for babies and toddlers and verbal feedback for older children. Several parents were spoken to; they are all very happy with the care their children receive in the setting.

Staff are interested in what children do or say; they actively promote language development by asking open questions and respond with praise and encouragement. Babies and toddlers are confident and settle well into the nursery.

The nursery has been completely redecorated since the change of ownership. The staff had input into the colours and how their rooms were renovated. This has resulted in a brighter welcoming environment for children and parents.

Staff give a very high regard to the children’s safety and security. Comprehensive risk assessment is undertaken, staff regularly assess potential hazards relating to the premises, equipment and the activities that are organised. Evacuation procedures are regularly practiced with the children and carefully monitored to maintain the high standards of safety.
